Introduction

Left 4 Dead took the world by storm in 2008 and still holds up to this day. I wanted to create this collection because of the criticism I was seeing Back 4 Blood facing when it was released. I also wanted to revisit Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 because they practically defined the 4-player co-op genre. Other games have come out like it, but none of them were able to improve the formula and offer interesting gameplay until Back 4 Blood came out.

The Project

This project is broken up into two major parts: The Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 parts. Each game will get articles of the same type with Left 4 Dead 2 getting more articles overall because of the amount of content offered.

Inside this collection, you’ll find some level dives, a review for each game, and a couple of other articles that will allow me to take a long look at both games. Finally, despite being created in response to Back 4 Blood criticisms, you will not find Back 4 Blood content in this collection.

Goal(s)

  • Complete a game review.
  • Complete the character dives.
  • Complete a review for each level.

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead is a co-op 4-person survival shooter. It was developed by the Valve Corporation, Turtle Rock Studios, and Certain Affinity. Left 4 Dead was released on November 17, 2008. In Left 4 Dead you play as one of 4 survivors. Your objective is to survive various campaigns.

Left 4 Dead is a zombie-killing game that captures the essence of escaping an apocalypse nearly perfectly, especially for the time.

Left 4 Dead has an amazing versus mode that allows you to face off against a group of player controlled infected. The versus mode is one of the highlights of the game.
